Do you practice your flamenco hand movements?⁣

Practicing 'manos' is a must for every flamenco dancer.⁣

Not sure where to begin? ⁣

Start with this video:

The good news is that there are many ways to move the hands in flamenco. ⁣

Like other stylistic elements of flamenco dance, there is plenty of room for individuality in this area. ⁣

But here are some general tips:

Move the hands in isolation from the arms.⁣

Rotate the hands in a circular motion.⁣

Fan your fingers beginning with your pinky or with your pointer finger.⁣

Sometimes you may choose not to move the fingers at all.⁣

Experiment, and see what you like.⁣

So set aside time to practice hand technique. ⁣

And practice a lot until you no longer have to concentrate on your hand movements, so you can focus on the steps!⁣
