Bulerías Workshop w/José Mijita & Carmen Herrera (Online) - Sunday, May 4th
Unlock the mysteries of how cante and baile work together in bulerías with master artists from Jerez José Mijita (cantaor) and Carmen Herrera (bailaora).
In this 1.5 hour workshop students will play palmas, sing, and learn how the dancing and singing work together in bulerías.

Learn about cante por bulerías and how to respond to it with palmas and baile.
José and Carmen will teach students how bulerías cante (singing) works and how baile (dance) relates to it.
José will teach a couple of letras (song verses). Carmen will explain how to accompany the singing with palmas and demonstrate when and how to respond to the singing when dancing por bulerías.
Open to dancers, palmeros, singers, and anybody interested: All skill levels.
*Workshop will be recorded for those who cannot attend live.

Students will have the chance to sing along with José and play palmas.
You will not be asked to dance in the class however you will learn important things that will help you when it's time to dance bulerias.
Carmen will demonstrate when and how to respond to the singing when dancing por bulerías.

Not to worry! I, Laura, will be interpreting for Carmen & José.
What if I took the previous workshops with José and Carmen? How will this be different?
You will be able to deepen your understanding during the upcoming workshop.
What if I did not take the past workshops with José and Carmen? Can I still participate?
Absolutely. There are no prerequisites for this class.
