Flamenco Compás & Palmas 101: This two week series you will learn the basics of the 8-count and 12-count compases. Learn palmas techniques and patterns and how to accompany and enhance the dance, singing, and guitar in a practical flamenco setting so that you may support the cuadro or individual with palmas.

Class Description

The ability to play palmas is an essential skill for ANYONE interested in flamenco. If you are a guitarist, singer, dancer, percussionist. (You need this skill.) 

We’ll cover palmas to accompany dance, cante & guitarra

Week One: 8-count compás

Week Two: 12-count compás

Learn the basics of these compases in order to support the cuadro or individual with palmas.

Work with different accents, compás, and contratiempo and LOTS of fun playing with patterns.
